Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 or 85/15)
  • 1 head Boston/Butter Lettuce
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp Light Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Non-alcoholic BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the light mayo, non-alcoholic BBQ sauce, garlic powder, and paprika. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. Divide ground beef into four equal portions and shape into patties.
  3. Season patties generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook beef patties in a skillet over medium-high heat until preferred doneness is reached.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. Carefully wash and dry the Boston lettuce leaves to ensure they remain crisp.
  7. To assemble, place a cooked patty onto two layered lettuce leaves.
  8. Top with the special sauce and fold the edges of the lettuce around the patty.

Notes

Ensure the lettuce is completely dry after washing to prevent the leaves from becoming soggy. You can add sliced tomatoes, pickles, or red onions for extra crunch and flavor without adding significant carbs.
